Split lies on a peninsula, surrounded with seas and hills Mosor and Kozjak. At the southern slopes of the peninsula, the modern city has growth, in which is the old plebejischen settlements inserted themselves from the municipal harbor to Stobrec. Split is a large historical, administrational midpoint and religios midpoint of Croatia.
